Grow with Notch is a place to keep your child's growth history. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, where it lives, and what you can do about it. It's written to be readable — if anything is unclear, email us and we'll explain.
1 Who We Are
Grow with Notch is a paediatric growth-tracking app published by Spinclub Music Inc., a corporation registered in Canada. You can reach us at hello@growwithnotch.ca.
2 What We Collect
Only what's needed to run the app for you:
- Account: your email address, display name, and a securely hashed password.
- About your child: the name or nickname you choose, date of birth, sex at birth, and the measurements and notes you enter — height, weight, head circumference, milestones, and appointment notes.
- Optional: photos you choose to attach to a child's profile.
- Diagnostics: crash logs, app version, iOS version, and device model — used only to keep the app stable.
We do not collect location data, contacts, browsing history, or advertising identifiers. We do not sell or rent your data to anyone, ever.
3 Why We Collect It
- To provide the app — displaying your child's growth history, syncing across your devices, and enabling family sharing.
- To secure your account — authentication, session management, and password recovery.
- To improve stability — aggregate diagnostics, never linked to identifiable growth data.
- To respond when you contact us — support requests and privacy inquiries.
4 Grow with Notch Is Not Medical Advice
Grow with Notch is not a medical device. It records what you observe. It is not diagnostic, and it is not medical advice. Growth charts and interpretations shown in the app are based on WHO and Canadian paediatric growth standards for general reference — they are not a substitute for professional medical judgement.
If you have any concerns about your child's growth or development, please contact your paediatrician or family doctor.
5 Third-Party Processors
We use one hosted service to run the app: Supabase (Supabase Inc.), our database and authentication provider. Supabase stores your account and child-profile data in the Canada Central region.
We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. Apple provides App Store distribution and, when you install the app, may collect device-level information subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
6 Where Your Data Lives
Your account and your children's profiles are stored in Canada (Canada Central region), via Supabase. Encrypted backups are stored in the same region. Data does not leave Canada in the ordinary course of operating the app.
7 How Long We Keep It
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account (see how to delete your account), we delete your account, your children's profiles, and all associated measurements within 30 days.
A minimal set of records may be retained where required by law — for example, tax records related to any paid subscription. These records do not include growth data.
8 Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you have rights over your personal information under Canada's PIPEDA, Quebec's Law 25, the EU GDPR and UK GDPR, and California's CCPA/CPRA. These include:
- Access — a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction — fixing anything that's inaccurate.
- Deletion — deleting your account and personal information.
- Portability — receiving your data in a machine-readable format.
- Withdrawal of consent — for anything you previously opted into.
- Complaint — to us, or to your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@growwithnotch.ca. We aim to respond within 30 days.
For Quebec residents: you may exercise your rights or file a complaint with the assistance of our Privacy Officer, reachable at the email above marked for the attention of the Privacy Officer.
9 Children's Data
Grow with Notch is designed to be used by parents and guardians to track their children's growth. The person creating an account must be an adult (18+). While the app processes data about children, the account holder is the parent or guardian who is our direct user.
We do not knowingly permit anyone under 18 to create an account. If we learn that a child has created an account, we will delete that account and any associated data.
10 International Transfers
Your data is stored in Canada. If you use the app from outside Canada, your data will still be stored in Canada Central. Canada has been recognized by the European Commission as offering an adequate level of data protection for personal information transferred from the EU for general commercial activities. Similar recognition applies in the United Kingdom.
11 Security
We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your information: TLS encryption in transit, encryption at rest, hashed passwords, and role-based access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we take our obligations seriously.
If we discover a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and the applicable authorities as required by law.
12 Cookies & Tracking
Grow with Notch does not use third-party cookies, advertising SDKs, or tracking pixels. This privacy site uses no cookies. The iOS app does not track you across other apps or websites.
13 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If the changes are material, we'll notify you by email or in-app before they take effect.
